Bonnie Christiansen is the Academic Sustainability Coordinator at Weber State University. She has implemented climate change solutions in Utah for nearly 17 years. Christiansen coordinates the Intermountain Sustainability Summit, runs community programs, and was recently selected to serve on Ogden City’s Natural Resources and Sustainability Stewardship Committee. Christiansen managed Utah’s first community solar program, has promoted wind ordinances in rural Utah, and marketed renewable energy to hundreds of businesses and thousands of residents. She also helped to address environmental health concerns of low-income families across Salt Lake County, Utah, through the Green and Healthy Homes Initiative, and the Lead Safe Salt Lake program. She loves to work with others and has worked in collaboration with stakeholders from community volunteers to the Dept. of Energy (DOE) to launch initiatives which advanced residential and commercial energy efficiency, residential solar installations, and electric vehicle adoption.
