Kelly Skalicky is the President and CEO of Stearns Bank, N.A. She is the daughter of Stearns Bank Chairman of the Board Norm Skalicky and has spent her career practicing law and working in the banking industry. Kelly attained her Juris Doctorate from William Mitchell College of Law and, while in law school, Kelly earned the honor of serving as law clerk to the Honorable Michael J. Davis. Kelly, provided legal counsel to tribes and tribal entities while practicing law with Gover, Stetson, & Williams, which ultimately grew into one of the largest Native-owned law firms in the country and represented tribes and tribal agencies in a dozen states. After practicing in the areas of Indian law, business litigation, commercial law and commercial transactions, Kelly rose through the ranks at Stearns Bank. She began by serving as legal counsel and was designated General Counsel in 2011 before being promoted to President in 2017. In February 2019, Kelly was promoted to CEO. As President and CEO, Kelly is focused on the bottom line, an unwavering commitment to steady, profitable growth through innovative niche financing, mobile banking services, cutting edge technology and conveniences. She is known for her unmatched determination to find a way to “Get the Job Done!” and deliver for customers with highly personalized service that includes “Answering on the 1st ring!” In addition to serving on the Stearns Bank Board of Directors, Kelly also impacts lives on the Board of The Clara Foundation, which was founded by her mother Mae Ellingson Skalicky to establish Clara’s House – named after Kelly’s grandmother – to provide out-patient child and adolescent mental health and addiction care.
